Eat: A Pastel Work of Art

As I have mentioned before, I absolutely love Tel Aviv Art Museum, and my last visit made me love it even more (if thats possible!). I was on a cultural day trip with a group of ladies when suddenly all at once we felt our stomachs rumbling. We had spotted a gorgeous-looking restaurant in the sculpture garden between the old and new gallery buildings.

Pastel is a contemporary brasserie run by chef Thibault Bera, the personal chef to the French ambassador to Israel for four years. Bera really knows his stuff and creates the finest dishes with his expert knowledge. We ordered a few dishes to share as we were not that hungry, some delicious french bread and chopped liver, fish soup with fresh soft white fish inside and some light and tasty asparagus and bean fusilli. Then came the pièce de résistance, nutty tofu and stir fried vegetables in honey and soy. Oh the tofu! What an amazing dish! The chef came out and informed us that this is one of his favourite dishes and it is also completely vegan. I would eat this meal every day if I could!
